Internships
Linden Lab is currently accepting applicants for ‘course-credit’ Summer internships for 2010. We generally hire interns during the summers before their Junior and Senior years. At this time, we are only hiring interns seeking to work in exchange for course credit. We invest heavily in our interns, and on average, 50% of our interns continue on to develop future employment relationships with Linden Lab. For certain internships, working remotely within the US is a possibility. We are a small organization relative to the scope and scale of our engineering, marketing, and software development operations. Hence we facilitate student learning in order to have interns perform real hands-on work. We immerse our interns into our work environment (both virtual and real) and provide an opportunity to learn complex technologies from the ground up. Our interns attend weekly lectures provided by our company's executive staff. You will get to hear directly from our CEO and Sr. VP team on how they manage our business and be able to ask them direct questions. We have a variety of opportunities across the org:
- Software Engineering interns work directly work with senior engineers and watch as they solve complex engineering problems from the ground up – with your input included.
- Marketing and PR interns work with the Digital Marketing Team on public facing documentation and web commerce campaigns, while helping to execute strategies that drive user growth.
- Program and Product Management interns collaborate with all engineering and marketing areas of the organization and learn software development lifecycle planning/methodology, product marketing, PRD creation, product launch planning, road-mapping and business development.
- For interns heavily immersed in Second Life, we seek individuals to collaborate with our Community and Customer Relations teams on in-world events management, forum moderations, and various projects in Second Life. Community manager interns also learn about developing business partnerships in-world and will be asked to facilitate compelling events that attract new users to Second Life
