Overview:
Linden Lab is looking to add to our talented In World Specialist team. Specialists are the frontline employees responsible for communicating and enabling the Second Life experience. They help to maintain and shape Second Life's unique online community. Specialists team members work remotely from all over the world assisting residents and are a vital part of the operation of Second Life. Note: We are only able to hire this role in the United States, UK, or Singapore and for Full-time positions only. In the US, we can only hire in WA, MA, CA, or VA. We are a 24/7 service center operation and you will be asked to work bizarre hours!
Responsibilities:
- Assisting Residents with problems both technical and social.
- Welcoming new arrivals, and assiting with their initial experience
- Channeling community concerns and feedback to Second Life's Community Managers and developers.
- Specialists work both in world and in our support software program in highly collaborative teams in three disciplines: In-World Experience, Governance, and Concierge.
- They also work very closely with first level billing and technical support and the risk mitigation team.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:

- At least 18 years of age.
- Have a PC or Mac with working broadband access that meets our minimum system requirements http://secondlife.com/support/sysreqs.php
- A second language is an advantage (particularly German, Chinese, Spanish, Japanese, French, Korean or Italian).
- Able to work under pressure under difficult circumstances and with multiple individuals at once.
- Have excellent communication skills, and in particular, to be superb at social interaction whether it be inworld, on the telephone or in writing.
- Prior experience with community management, especially for established online games or communities, is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to think work as part of a team, to integrate with others and to show personal initiative when called for.
- A well developed sense of humor, a thick skin and a positive outlook are all good traits to have!
- Will be required to work weekend and/or graveyard shifts.
- Ability to work weekends, evenings and non-traditional hours.
Education and Experience:
- Speak and write English fluently.
- At least six months of experience as an active resident in Second Life.
